Q: I have a concealed carry permit so can I carry concealed while I wear a mask for COVID-19?
A: Yes. There is NO La law that prohibits the carrying of a firearm while wearing a mask. Don’t believe everything you read on Facebook.

Q: Do I have to own my own gun?
A: No. You may borrow a friend’s firearm or you may rent one from us.

Q: Is prior firearm experience required?
A: No. We start with the basics and work with you.

Q: I need more firearm training but I don’t like crowds. Do you provide one on one training?
A: Yes. One on one private training is available. Please email Trinity@BlueLineConceptsLA.com for more info about One on One Training.

Q: Do I get my permit that day?
A: Upon successful completion of the class, you’ll be issued a certificate along with the instructions on how to apply for the permit from the La State Police. Only LSP can issue the permit.

Q: Is there a fee for the permit?
A: Yes. The complete list of fees can be found at www.LSP.org Generally speaking, a five year permit will cost $125 and a lifetime permit is $500. Veterans can get their permits for FREE!! Persons age 65 and older get their permits for half price.

Q: Do I have to shoot a firearm at this course?
A: Yes. You must shoot a firearm.

Q: How do I apply for the permit?
A: You apply for the permit thru LSP at www.lsp.org by using the online application found at http://chp-web.dps.louisiana.gov/

Q: Should I apply online or mail the application in?
A: The most expeditious and preferred manner is to apply online. Completing a “hard copy” application and mailing it in will only result in a delay in obtaining your permit.

Q: What do I need to bring to the class?
A: The items needed for each class are listed under the appropriate class on the Registration Page.

Q: What if I was convicted of.....???
A: Please look at the La Concealed Handgun Rulebook found at http://www.lsp.org/pdf/chRuleBook.pdf. If you can’t find your answer there, please contact LSP Concealed Handgun Section it consult with your attorney.

Q: What states accept the La Concealed Handgun Permit?
A: Refer to www.lsp.org for a current list of states that have reciprocity with La.

Q: Where can I carry concealed with my permit? Are there any areas that I can’t carry my gun?
​A: Refer to www.lsp.org for a complete list of prohibited places.

Q: I see fingerprints are required. I am employed by XYZ and already have submitted fingerprints for to the State Police. Do I need to do another set of prints?
A: Yes! A new set of prints is required for your Concealed Handgun Application. You have two options. Option A is to have your local law enforcement agency complete two print cards for you and you mail them to LSP. Option B is for you to drive to LSP HQ in Baton Rouge and have your prints done there. Option B generally results in you obtaining your permit faster.

Q: I took your class and submitted my application online. Can you check the status for me?
A: No. ONLY the applicant can contact LSP to discuss the application.
